REP Participates in the 25th NOSCA International Seminar in Norway

Combining Industry Discussion with Practical Exercise

The international programme opened with two days of conference sessions and concluded with a practical exercise at sea. The format gave participants an opportunity to discuss industry developments before seeing response knowledge and capabilities applied in a maritime environment.

NOSCA, the Norwegian Oil Spill Control Association, was established in 1993 to bring industry participants together and improve shared knowledge of oil spill prevention and response. Through NOSCA Clean Oceans, members have a space for cooperation and innovation focused on sustainable systems, products and solutions for oil spill prevention and marine pollution response.

Strengthening International Exchange

REP is also an active member of the international anti-pollution organisations SYCOPOL and Interspill. Its participation in the NOSCA seminar gave the REP team an opportunity to exchange knowledge and perspectives with other organisations involved in preventing and responding to oil pollution.

Events of this kind support professional relationships across borders and allow response organisations, manufacturers and technical specialists to discuss shared challenges. Combining conference learning with an exercise at sea also connects industry dialogue with the practical realities of marine pollution response.
