Who Can Join?
ECOA membership is open to eligible companies, organisations and individuals with an interest in the oil spill and marine pollution industries.
The Association Rules define four membership categories:
- Corporate
- Start-up
- Associate
- Individual
Corporate and Start-up members are expected to have an officially registered office, normally within the European geographic area.

Promotion Via Visibility
Corporate, Start-up and Associate members may be listed on the ECOA website and directory, including a brief activity description and website link where applicable.
Companies and Start-ups will have an option to list corporate announcements on the website, a blog will be open to promote discussion of the latest industry issues

How to Become a Member
Complete the membership form and tell us about your organisation, role or interest in the sector.
The ECOA team will review your details and confirm the most suitable membership route.
You will be advised which membership category applies and what the next steps are.
Membership becomes valid once the relevant annual fee has been paid. The Association Rules state that membership is valid on payment of annual fees for the current membership year, which begins on 1 October.

ECOA membership is subject to the Association Rules and payment of the relevant annual membership fee. Some membership categories include voting rights, while others are designed for participation, visibility and sector engagement.
ECOA membership does not represent company accreditation, individual accreditation or formal qualification. Membership confirms participation in the Association only.

Who can become an ECOA member?

Does ECOA membership include accreditation?
No. ECOA membership does not represent company accreditation, individual accreditation or formal qualification. Membership confirms participation in the Association only.
Can members attend ECOA meetings and events?
Yes. ECOA is expected to hold meetings or events approximately three times a year, including an Annual Meeting. These meetings give members the opportunity to connect, share knowledge and contribute to the Association’s development.
When does ECOA membership become active?
Membership becomes valid once the relevant annual fee has been paid for the current membership year. The ECOA membership year begins on 1 October.
